Hitachi seems to think so. The Company has taken the initiative for developing one of the smallest RFID chips tags and has crossed boundaries to create RFID tag in powder form.
If you go by the statistics of this chip it is sixty four times smaller as compared to the earlier mu - chips and nine times smaller as compared to the prototype developed by Hitachi last year. Their size has in no way affected their storage capacity and it has a 128 bit ROM which can store a unique 38 digit ID number. Semiconductor miniaturization technology has been used by the company for developing these tags.
Amazing.
