RFID Aerospace Expansion

Rolls Royce has announced its plans to further its use of RFID technology in its U.S. aerospace defense contracts.

Lee Doherty, Rolls-Royce's head of supply chain services, told Computer Weekly: "We can drive down payment times by linking RFID to invoicing. Our operational command centres will get visibility of things that are not moving on time or in the way that they should."

This is yet another validation that the rising need to accurately track products through supply chains is creating significant scope for the use of RFID supply management systems across a variety of industrial sectors.
