The Loftware Solution Assists Argentinean Automation Training Center

The photo on the right is from the Centro de Entrenamiento Para la Automatizacion (CEPA) – an Argentinean Automation Training Center for supply-chain professionals. This particular CEPA belongs to GS1 Argentina, a global organization dedicated to the design and implementation of global standards and solutions. Their ultimate objective is to improve the efficiency and visibility of supply and demand chains globally and across multiple sectors. Currently, the GS1 System of standards is the most widely used supply chain standards system in the world.

At this training center, the Loftware Print Server (LPS) is used in training courses and drives all of the printers. In the photo below and on the left, you can see that the Loftware solution is being utilized by equipment from Sato, Zebra and Intermec (all RFID, I and II generation). Also visible is a Chine Printer, used to show trainees how the user can manage an Avery printer with LPS. In addition, there is a SAP installation which sends printer requirements to LPS. From SAP, LPS prints the pallet label in both RFID and EPC codes.

The new 3,500-square-foot center in Argentina contains a virtual retail store – including a point-of-sale system and a stockroom – as well as a distribution center with a conveyor system. Consumer packaged goods manufacturers, logistics providers, and pharmaceutical and apparel companies are visiting the center to learn how they can use RFID to optimize their supply-chain processes.
