How does mayo get in your fridge?

Here’s an interesting story from RFID Journal detailing an RFID testing program taking place at Benadicta, a French manufacturer of mayonnaises and other sauces.

Benedicta’s pilot, which the company expects to finish within the next three months, has already provided Benedicta with valuable lessons, including the importance of standards and common data definitions that make it easier for supply-chain partners' information systems to exchange information.

At the conclusion of the pilot program the company will evaluate the return on investment of using RFID tags as opposed to using bar-coded labels. Benedicta will then decide whether or not to expand RFID use to track pallets moving through the supply chain.
