Late for your flight? No problem. The airport will soon be able to locate your whereabouts within the terminal by reading an RFID tag on your ticket. Once you are located, you and other latecomers will be picked up and brought directly to the plane.

Scientists at University College London (UCL) are developing a system that combines radio frequency identification (RFID) tags and high-definition CCTV cameras to track passenger movements in busy airports.

This technique might be most useful for extremely large aircrafts, such as the Airbus A380, which carries up to 700 people.
