At Last, A Coalition to Offset Chicken Little Foil Heads

A handful of chip makers and smart card producers have come together and formed the Secure ID Coalition... Amen. The best part is this segment of the news story courtesy of RFID Update, where they don't mince words: The idea behind the coalition was the need to better confront the seemingly endless -- and often baseless -- pronouncements about RFID and smart card security vulnerabilities. It then goes on to thoroughly trash the recent Passport hype and the Amsterdam fantasy about RFID chips in cats infecting computers. It's about time!
