Alien falls back to planet Earth
This will likely be the last time we write about this topic since it seems at long last the sorry saga may be over. In this eWeek piece by Evan Schuman entitled 'Alien Gives Up Its IPO Efforts,' we learn that the company's NASDAQ aspiration has reached a logical expiration. There are a lot of reasons for this outcome, but this always stood out for me as biggest one: Alien's IPO had been aimed at raising about $100 million, but it's original offering documents raised concerns because of the IPO-candid way the company had of discussing its inability to accurately predict the market and its own sales.

1 Comments:
The pulling back of Aliens initial IPO is directly related to market conditions and not the future revenues of the RFID sector. Nine other non-RFID companies have also pulled back their mid summer IPO's. Companies that have pulled out of scheduled IPO'S are CHG Healtcare, New Page Holding, Cowen Group and Ryan Beck.
The recent Vonage IPO debacle and current market conditions are the reasons for the Alien IPO delay, not the future revenues of RFID related technologies.
