Wireless Mesh/RFID Solution for Automobile Dealerships

This is so timely because just yesterday I went to test drive a new Toyota FJ Cruiser and the poor sales person had to go get the key, get the plate, check the gas level blah blah blah. There were a few minutes there when it seemed to me it might not be worth the time or trouble to wait around. Dealers know, of course, that a test drive is a reliable predictor of a sale.[Neat new off-road vehicle, by the way... it's like an H2 on a diet...] So here's a new system designed to make all of the above quicker:

...a leading developer of wireless mesh networks, today announced the deployment of its wireless mesh technology for the Bob Lewis Automotive Family in Silicon Valley. Bob Lewis Automotive...deployed Firetide's wireless mesh to enable outdoor operation of its key and inventory management system. The system utilizes the wireless mesh to create a property-wide wireless infrastructure to support the dealership's new KeyWhere(TM) Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tracking system that maintains live data on any vehicle on the lot.
