Hitachi to Productize Smart Tag with 30m Signal Reach

Productize? That's not even really a word, is it? But you know what I mean. This smart tag technology has apparently been a solution looking for a problem for the past year. Hitachi seems to have decided there's a market for it.

The usage scenario for such a smart tag could be in container harbors or any other large scale storage areas. The pricing of the new active smart tag will be around 500 yen (~$4.34). More on all this is available here.
