An Alien Concept
As Evan Schman noted here at his great StorefrontBacktalk site, and hundreds of others wrote about as well late last week, Alien Techology delayed its planned IPO due to, um... errr... 'market conditions.' That's corporate speak that usually summarizes what happens when an offering is shopped all over and the underwriters let you know the issue is profoundly undersubscribed. Now some may wish to credit market conditions for that lack of appetite. Others may prefer to point out this often happens when a company has shown a tremendous ability to burn cash and very little skill at profit-making. You'll just have to make your own call on that.
Meanwhile, this week I'll be adding Evan Schuman's site to the links here at the right. There isn't a better site, or a more qualified writer out there, than Evan Schuman's StorefrontBacktalk when it comes to retail technology and e-commerce.
