Microsoft Fostering Industry-Wide Interoperability?

This is good news if they mean it even though it's hard to imagine anyone having the ability to say this with a straight face. So I've supplied some grains of salt here to take with this news:

Microsoft Corp today announced that it has formed the Interoperability Customer Executive Council to identify areas for interoperability improvements across its products and the overall software industry.

This is important because among other things, it involves Microsoft's various RFID initiatives.
