Just a Little Question for the RFID Paranoids Among Us

Here's a short story about a person who used nothing more than a British Airways boarding pass to steal someone else's identity. Amazing. It got me to thinking why it is that the anti-RFID privacy advonuts never mention or concede that it just may turn out that RFID with and without biometrics may eliminate this problem -- and actually protect people's privacy in better ways. Is it ok with them, for example, if someone becomes you exactly as long as they do it the old fashioned way? Are they just anti-technology?
In other words, if someone looks over your shoulder as you use your ATM card at the grocery store... well, that's ok! But if a technology comes along that promises to inextricably link who you are to actual proof of your identity, this is a bad thing? Am I oversimplifying this?
All aboard!
