The Future as a Data Gator as RFID Swamps Us with Facts

In this Barry Talks post there's a plea for help in figuring out how we're all going to handle all the facts and figurings RFID will pool for our wading pleasure. This is no croc. If you're an expert in the field, you may want to post a comment. The piece is entitled, "Swamped by Data." It notes, in part:

From a technical perspective this implies considerable amounts of processing distributed out to the "edge", nearby the sensor network, with enough intelligence to detect anomalies which can be processed upstream... And for the business a new way of creating, managing and deploying rules and processes is required: what should those pattern recognizers on the edge be looking for, and when should they report it?
