Howdy, From the Gaylord Texas Resort

Well today was the first day the exhibits were open here at RFID World in Grapevine, Texas. The show floor was crazy with last minute exhibitors installing their booths and testing their demos, right up until the last few minutes before the show floor opened at 5:00PM this evening. The show this evening was only open from 5-6:30PM, pretty slow show traffic, most of the attendees are taking advantage of the free open bar and appetizers, sponsored by Siemens.

I have a feeling this is a welcome relief to many exhibitors that are promoting or running RFID readers. With so many variations of hardware in such a confined area, a lot of these exhibitors are experiencing interferance from other hardware reader vendors and tag vendors. Certainly this is not an optimal environment that any customer would be working in, 10 or so various RFID Reader vendors and 20 or so various tag manufacturers all within one room, plus mulitple software vendors trying to work with many of these manufacturers, much like Loftware. It truely makes it a challenge for the engineers working on these demos.

Here is Loftware's booth, number 310 with our inside sales manager, Scott Darling and our systems analyst and professional services guru, Jon Carmichael. More tomorrow, when in my opinion, the show really officially starts, with a full day of exhibits and meetings with customers and press from 11:00am - 7:00pm.
